Jajarkot, Dec 22. People of Upper Dolpa are having supply of rice grains after two years from inside Nepal. A consignment of 3,074 quintals of rice has been readied and is being transported from Surkhet for Dolpobuddha, Chharkatangsong and She Phoksundo Rural Municipalities- the rural areas in the upper Dolpa.
Out of the total consignment, 440 quintals of rice has reached Dunai. Chief of Food Management and Trade Company of Dolpa, Kamal Raj Pande, informed National News Agency (RSS) that 100 quintals of rice had reached Dhara village of Chharkatangsong Rural Municipality. Nearly a thousand quintals of rice was on the way. The food grains were taken to Dunai via land route. Mules were used for ferrying it from Dunai to upper Dolpa, he added.
The rice had to be taken from Surkhet to Upper Dolpa as China had blocked the border point from where the people of Dolpa used to import rice in previous years. Dinesh Construction Company Suppliers of Banke has the contract for the supply. The company is delivering ‘moto’ and ‘jeera masino’ variety of rice.
