Kathmandu, December 23. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has proposed to set up a library of Buddhist literature in India. He said so while addressing the 6th Indo-Japan Samwad Conference virtually.

PM Modi has said that the library shall gather digital copies of all Buddhist literature from various countries and aim to translate them, making them freely accessible to all Buddhist monks and scholars.

He also said, “In the past, humanity often took the path of confrontation instead of collaboration. From Imperialism to the World Wars. From the arms race to the space race. We had dialogues but they were aimed at pulling others down. Now, let us rise together… We must keep humanism at the core of our policies. We must make harmonious co-existence with nature as the central pillar of our existence.”

PM Modi has also insisted that India will gladly host the facility and provide it with sufficient resources.
