Prachanda-Nepal faction at EC claiming legitimacy
Kathmandu, December 23 : Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal have reached the Election Commission (EC) with signatures of the central members after Nepal Communist Party (NCP) convened separate central committee meetings yesterday (Tuesday).
On Tuesday, two separate meetings of the central committee were held: one, of the in Prime Minister Oli faction, at Baluwatar and another, of the Prachanda-Nepal faction, at Karki Party Palace, Babar Mahal . Both factions have claimed that they should be declared the official party.
Earlier, the Prachanda-Nepal faction had submitted a letter to the EC, deciding to take disciplinary action against Chair Oli.
The Oli faction has stated that it has sent a letter to the EC for official recognition. The EC is yet to decide upon the case.
