Minister for Energy Rayamajhi assumes office
Kathmandu, December 27. Minister of Electricity, Water Resources and Irrigation Top Bahadur Rayamajhi has taken charge of his office on Sunday. Minister Rayamajhi instructed the government employees under the ministry to work in accordance with the country’s objective of stability and growth.
He said, “We have not yet become self-sufficient in energy but we are moving forward in the field of exports. The potential of the energy sector needs to be pushed forward for the development and prosperity of the country.”
Minister Rayamajhi has announced plans for the coming days to increase energy output and consumption. He said that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) is in favor of the nation and urged for the implementation of cooperation rather than generating controversy. He added that after analyzing the potential of the irrigation sector in Nepal, necessary steps would be taken for its improvement and development.
