Eight people succumbed to COVID-19 in last 24 hours
Kathmandu, Jan 3 : Spokesperson to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) Dr. Jageshwor Gautam informed during the regular press briefing that 421 new cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed on Sunday. With that the national COVID-19 tally has reached 261,859.
8 succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours and the total number of deaths due to COVID-19 has reached 1878. Similarly, 367 people are in quarantine so far. Currently, there are 5,477 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which 3,521 patients are receiving treatment in institutional isolation. Some 199 are admitted to the ICU and 35 are receiving treatment with ventilator facility.
5,800 Real-Test Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests have been done in the last 24 hours.In the last 24 hours, 637 people have recovered. In the meantime, cumulative recovery cases have crossed 2,54, 494. The rate of recovery has hit 97.2 per cent.
