Nepali Embassy in Doha requests people not to carry other people’s items to Nepal, especially valuables
Kathmandu, January 4. The Nepali Embassy in Doha has requested not to carry other people’s valuables while traveling from Doha to Kathmandu. The embassy issued a notice on Monday urging people not to bring valuables including gold and not to carry goods upon requests of other people .
The statement from the embassy said, “The embassy has drawn the attention to the fact that some Nepalis going to Nepal from Qatar are carrying valuable items including gold at the pleas of other people or in various enticements and due to this there are various problems in Nepal.”
The embassy has requested people to bring the valuable items including gold from Qatar only if the weight lies within the designated weights by the prevailing law of Nepal and bring the items to Nepal only with the purchase bill.
The embassy has also warned not to exceed the designated weight for such items. If found violating the law, the items will be confiscated and action will be taken.
