Orientation program conducted for epidemic mitigation
Kathmandu, Jan 5 : Although there appears to be low risk of catching COVID-19, the risk has not has not decreased, therefore a pre-preparedness and response system for COVID-19 infection management has been initiated with the co-ordination of various institutions.
In a program organized in Biratnagar on Monday, the organizers said in a press release that it is important to keep the public health sector ready for any future situation.
In line with the plan, a public awareness campaign for health emergency (epidemic) preparedness and response was jointly conducted by the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Health, Nabil Bank, Chaudary Foundation, Asian Disaster Preparedness Center and NDRC.
It is mentioned in the press release that the capacity building orientation program was conducted for local health workers working in the health sector and various humanitarian service organizations.
The program is aimed at minimizing public health risks during health crises and enhancing the capacity of public health and humanitarian services staff to plan for such a situation; as Nepal is a less developed world with minimal public health and infrastructure.
In Province 1, the training program was run in Biratnagar, on Monday. Prrograms for Birgunj, Bharatpur of Bagmati, Pokhara of Gandaki, Siddharthanagar of Lumbini and Kanchanpur of Nepalgunj and the Far West are said to be taking place soon.
By providing services with 119 branches, a huge structure of 185 ATMs and more than 1500 Nabil Remittance agents across the country, Nabil Bank is confident of moving ahead in the project with all its stakeholders, along with many agents around the world.
