PM Oli claims 280 meetings to have been held at a leaders house in last nine months
Kathmandu, Jan 10 : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has given reasons for dissolving the House of Representatives. Addressing the National Assembly on Sunday morning, Prime Minister Oli said that the government was not permitted to function according to the demands of the people.
“How proper is it to blame the legislative structure when you do not allow the government and the Parliament to function effectively and refuse to allow decisions to be made on bills presented in the Parliament?” questioned Prime Minister Oli. “I tried my best to keep government in power for five years, but from April 25 to December 19, meetings have been conducted against me at a single leader’s house 280 times.”
Prime Minister Oli said that the people wanted the government to last for five years and retain political stability, but a group inside the party tried to oust him from power and create political uncertainty.
Prime Minister Oli said that the present government has accelerated development works: the construction of Rani Pokhari is completed, construction of Dharahara has entered the final stage and they have reconstructed and handed over seven lakh houses to the people after the earthquake.
