Kathmandu, January 15. A team of researchers from Italy’s University of Milan have discovered that Covid-19 had appeared in Europe, earlier than it was discovered in China.

According to a research report published in the British Journal of Dermatology, the researchers detected the presence of RNA gene sequences of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a 25-year-old Northern Italian woman which revealed that the woman was infected with the virus in November 2019.

For now, the woman can be considered as the “patient zero” of the global outbreak as the case is the oldest evidence of the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in a human being.
