Yoweri Museveni wins Uganda’s presidential elections
Kathmandu, January 17. Yoweri Museveni, the president of Uganda has won the decisive re-elections with 58.6% of the total votes.
Opposition leader Bobi Wine had 34.8% of the total votes. He has alleged that there has been fraud in the elections and has urged the public to reject the results.
Wine has claimed that he has video proof for the voting frauds. He said that he will present those once the internet services shall be restored. The government had shut down the internet a day before the elections and has banned all forms of social media.
In a tweet early on Saturday, the US State Department’s top diplomat for Africa Tibor Nagy, said that the “electoral process has been fundamentally flawed.”
Museveni has been in power for 35 years in the East-African country of Uganda.
