“Incompetent government destroying shellfish industry!”: Scottish Fisherman
Kathmandu, January 19. Scottish Fishermen on Monday demonstrated in front of the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s office with their trucks carrying slogans such as “Incompetent government destroying shellfish industry!”.
Protestors claimed that the exports of british seafood to the european union has been severely affected due to the new administrative border control procedures.
The CEO of Seafood Scotland, Donna Fordyce told CNN that the price of seafood items have been suffering deflation of 40% and 50%, as the traders are struggling to get products into Europe.
The Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the firms will be compensated for the loss they have faced due to the delays. He has also pledged £23m to help the affected businesses.
