Kathmandu, January 19. The pink seesaw project “Teeter-Totter Wall,” had received the prestigious “Design of the Year award”.

The project was built in 2019 by the duo professors, Ronald Rael and San Fratello. Ronald is a professor of architecture at U.C. Berkeley whereas, Fratello is an associate professor of design at San Jose State University.

After the introduction of Secure Fence Act 2006, the construction of 650 miles of fence at the border between Mexico and Texas, separated the two communities geographically and socially. Professors believe that the Teeter Totter Wall encourages people to build bridges between the communities.

“I think it’s become increasingly clear with the recent events in our country that we don’t need to build walls we need to build bridges.” said professor Fratello.
