Kathmandu. January 26. Former UK prime minister Gordon Brown through an article on UK Daily Telegraph warned that the United Kingdom is at the risk of becoming a failed state.

Brown opined that the country is controlled by the elites in London and a series of deep fundamental reforms in the constitution is the only choice to prevent splitting of the country. He said, “I believe the choice is now between a reformed state and a failed state,”.

While speaking on BBC radio morning program, Brown, who has previously served as Chancellor for 10 years, blamed current Prime Minister Boris Johnson for losing people’s trust causing problems in accepting the government in parts of the state.

Brown also expressed that the coronavirus pandemic has formed boundaries within the geography of the kingdom. He suggested that the non-elite population should also be taken into consideration while dealing with the pandemic and recession.

“No country can have national integration without political inclusion, and the commission might start by learning from the experience of other countries,” said Brown.
