Prachanda seeks India’s support in the movement against Oli
Kathmandu. February 12. Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has called neighbouring country India to support their movement against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
While addressing a huge mass at the capital on Wednesday, the Chairman of Prachanda-Madhav faction of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) said: We have high hope that India which claims to be the world’s largest democracy will support us “for democracy and for the constitution”.
He also said that democracy is being killed in the country, which lies between the world’s two powerful countries. ‘We want support from people from all over the world who believe in democratic values and principles. We want their support to save democracy from dying,’ noted Prachanda.
Prachanda is being heavily criticized for seeking help from India, as these kinds of requests tend to draw the neighbouring country into Nepal’s internal politics and affairs. In recent years, India has been accused of indulging in the micro-management of Nepal’s Politics.
It is no secret that India has an active presence in the splitting of the ruling NCP into two factions. Before the division of the party, the government was able to issue a new political map of the country, including Limpiyadhura, Kalapani, Lipulek and other Nepali territories claimed by India.
According to sources, the border dispute over Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura had seriously wounded India’s intentions. Therefore, India has been helping in the dissolution of parliament as well as the movements against the dissolution.
A senior leader of the NCP Prachanda-Madhav faction informed DCNepal that Prachanda has suspected India of pretending to support both factions of the NCP.
