Google has announced extra tax for YouTubers outside US

Kathmandu, March 10. Google has announced through an email that YouTube content creators outside the United States (US) will be “required to deduct US taxes from payments to creators outside of the US.”

The additional tax will be levied on YouTubers outside US starting as early as June 2021. YouTubers in US will be waived from this taxation.

If the content creators ignore the message they will have to deduct 24% tax from the entire monthly earnings. If one submits tax and is eligible for treaty benefits, then one has to pay 15% tax on the money that one makes from the viewers in the US. Similarly, if one is not eligible for treaty benefits, one has to pay 30% tax on the money one makes from US viewers.

The YouTubers are required to submit their tax information by 31st May, 2021.
