Around 18,000 people evacuated as flood and rainfall worsens in Australia

Kathmandu, March 22. Recent floods and downpours in New South Wales in Australia have forced people to leave their homes. Over 18,000 people have been evacuated in the wake of incessant rainfall and flooding since the past few days.
Officials have said that the “once-in-a-50-year event” may continue for the week and have urged the public to exercise extra caution.
PM Scott Morrison has offered funds for people who are forced to flee.
Emergency rescues were carried out to save people from flooded cars and home. Rescuers have said to conducted at least 750 rescues. Bridges have been cut off by the swollen rivers and over 150 schools have been shut down. Many dead livestock and wildlife were seen in the floods.
Airports have been shut down and 16 areas have been given warnings.
