Kathmandu, May 3.  After receiving constant threat calls from the powerful people of the country, Adar Poonawalla, the chief executive officer of Serum Institute of India has flown to the United Kingdom.

In a recent interview with The Times, the 40-year old billionaire said that he had  been receiving threatening phone calls from the most powerful personalities including chief ministers and business tycoons who demanded an immediate delivery of COVISHIELD vaccines.

“Everyone feels they should get the vaccine. They can’t understand why anyone else should get it before them… They are saying if you don’t give us the vaccine it’s not going to be good. It’s not foul language. It’s the tone,” said Poonawalla,

He also said that people seeking the vaccine had surrounded his property’s compound multiple times.“I don’t think even God could have forecast it was going to get this bad. I’m staying here for an extended time, because I don’t want to go back to that situation.” Poonawalla added.

Earlier last week, the Government of India decided to provide y-grade security to Poonawalla.
