Kathmandu, May 6. On Tuesday, a woman from Mali gave birth to nonuplets in a Moroccan hospital. Malian health minister Fanta Siby stated that 25-year old Halima Cisse had given birth to 5 girls and 4 boys by C – section surgery. The mother and all of her babies are “doing well”.
The birth of nonuplets is an extremely rare case. There are high chances for complications in which all of the babies fail to survive.
After an initial ultrasound session that revealed seven babies in the womb, Halima was flown to Morocco by the Malian Health Ministry. Media reports suggest that the government of the West African state is highly concerned about the safety of Halima and her nonuplets.
The family is expected to return home in several weeks.
