Delhi: CM Arvind Kejriwal announces oxygen concentrator banks for every district
Besides the oxygen concentrator banks, Kejriwal has also announced financial support for children and elderly who lost their families due to covid.
Kathmandu, May 15. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced oxygen concentrator banks for each district in Delhi.
There will be 200 oxygen concentrators set up at banks for each district. Kejriwal said, “From today, we are starting a very important service – we’re setting up oxygen concentrator banks. In every district, there will be a bank with 200 oxygen concentrators. It has been seen that Covid patients often need to get admitted to ICUs when they’re not given medical oxygen when needed. Sometimes patients even die. We have set up these banks to fulfill these gaps.”
He also added that any patient at home isolation also can avail the oxygen concentrator to be delivered at their doorstep.
He said that within 15 days, more than 1,000 ICU beds have been set up so that Delhi does not witness further surge in covid cases. He further revealed covid statistics of Delhi, which had less cases than a day before.
While Delhi is in a lockdown since April 19 to combat the deadly virus, Kejriwal has pledged earlier that the Delhi government will be extending financial support to children and elderly who lost their family members due to covid.
He declared that children who were orphaned during this crisis, will be given financial support for their education. Similarly, elderly people who have lost their earning member, will be provided with financial support.
