Lamjung experiences recurring aftershocks; locals forced to remain outdoor
Kathmandu, May 19. Nepali district of Lamgjung was hit by an earthquake on Wednesday. The 5.8 magnitude earthquake had an epicentre near Bhulbhule.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the 5.8 magnitude earthquake had an epicentre at Marsyangdi rural municipality-3, Bhulbhule.
The first wave was felt at 5:42 am (Nepali Standard Time) in different parts of Lamjung, Gorkha, Tanahun, Kaski, Manang, Chitwan, Dhading and Kathmandu Valley.
Latest media reports suggest that 4 people in Lamjung sustained injuries during the calamity. They are being treated at the Lamjung District hospital.
A representative of the District Police office informed that a dozen houses were damaged by the first wave. The locals have been experiencing recurring aftershocks, due to which they are forced to come out of their houses and stay in open spaces.
