Being less successful than the three khans helped me become a better actor, says Saif Ali Khan
Kathmandu, May 25. After 28 years of working in the film industry, Bollywood superstar Saif Ali Khan said that being less successful than Amir, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan actually gave him the freedom to experiment with his roles.
While speaking in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Saif opined that the three Khans were born to be actors. From an early age, they had always dreamt of becoming an actor.
In the case of Saif, acting wasn’t a childhood ambition. “I joined movies at a time where you got to aim to either be a superstar or not bother.” saif noted.
But, being new to the world of acting actually allowed him to gradually grow as an actor through learning and experimenting. Saif said, “There’s a point there. It wasn’t really about nuance, different kinds of characters…all that has happened now.”
Saif started his career in Bollywood with the 1993 film “Parampara”. In nearly three decades, he observed that the films and the characters have become more complex, therefore giving him a chance to present himself in more interesting roles. “For me, films have also changed. I am being offered complex roles and parts, and it is possible to make a lucrative living that can support a fairly lovely lifestyle,” he added.
