India is producing ten times more oxygen: PM Narendra Modi

Kathmandu, May 30. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the production of liquid medical oxygen in India has increased by 10 times.

While speaking on a monthly radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’, PM Modi said, “In the normal course, we were producing 900 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen in a day. Today, the production has gone up to 9,500 metric tonnes a day – an increase of almost 10 per cent.”

He further said that the nation is fighting the pandemic with all its strength.

Modi Government faces HUGE criticisms

The Modi-led Government of India has been facing severe criticisms for its inability to supply adequate oxygen.

Earlier this month, Chief Minister of the Indian capital state of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal said that New Delhi is hardly getting half the quantity of necessary medical oxygen.

 Last month, Leading American COVID expert Dr. Anthony Fauci opined that “ the Victory was declared too prematurely”.

With over 27.7 million cases, India has become the second-highest infected country in the world. Moreover, India is also suffering from its rapidly shrinking economy. Therefore, with a population of over one billion, managing the situation is challenging.

India kicked off a nationwide vaccination drive in January, and so far over 212 million vaccination doses have been administered across the country.
