Kathmandu, June 14. The government of Afghanistan on Monday confirmed that a special team of the national intel agency tracked and captured a senior Taliban commander from the northern side of the country.
Government spokesperson Hamid Mubariz announced that Talibani divisional commander Rohullah Rohani was arrested following an operative task conducted by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Yangi Qala district of Takhar province.
The announcement was made weeks after Taliban militants attacked security forces and seized several semi-urban districts across the country. The Taliban militant group has not responded to the announcement.
