Kathmandu, June 30. A teen from the Jharkhand state of India sold a dozen mangoes at Rupees 1.2 Lakh and bought a smartphone to attend online classes.

Tulsi Kumari, an 11-year-old girl poor mango vendor told ANI that her family’s financial situation deteriorated due to government-imposed lockdown. Her parents had no money to buy a smartphone for her to attend online classes.

The girl studying in fifth grade was well determined to collect money for a smartphone. She started selling mangoes on a roadside temporary shop, which was nothing but a few plastic sacks laid over the road. All of her daily earnings went into buying food for the family. When a Mumbai-based businessman, Ameya Hete heard about Tulsi, he bought 12 mangoes for Rs 10,000 each. He also helped her buy a smartphone and study materials with her earnings.

But what impressed me about Tulsi is her spirit to not give up on the circumstances and make efforts for her dreams.”
