China’s Communist Party has 95 million members, 20 times more than 1949

Kathmandu, July 1. The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Wednesday announced that the party has over 95.148 million members.
The People’s Republic of China was formed in 1949. In 72 years, the count of members multiplied by almost 20 times. The number of primary-level party organizations also increased by 24 times, from 195,000 to 4.86 million.
In the first half of this year, between January and June, 2.31 million people joined the party. In this time period, the membership figure increased by 3.5 percent.
The official statement issued by the party writes, “The continuous increase of members has shown the strong vitality of the Party and the prosperity of the Party’s cause.”
