Flash floods in Udayapur, 500 houses submerged

Kathmandu, July 3. Since Friday night, more than 500 households of the Belaka municipality in Udayapur district have been affected by flash floods induced by heavy rain.
The District administration informed that the security forces are in standby formation, preparing for rescue operations.
The Area Police Office confirmed that areas of Aambasi, Tapeshwori and Bhagalpur are affected due to flash floods.
RSS quotes a local as saying, “floods from local rivers entered settlement, waterlogging roads, farms and houses gradually … water has accumulated up to three feet.”
The flood from the local Gideri river has damaged the under-construction bridge which was about to complete.
