Hamro Patro streams Nepali radio in “High Quality”

Kathmandu, July 4. Nepal’s most downloaded mobile application, Hamro Patro has begun streaming HD audio of Nepali radio channels. 

Millions of Nepalis living in and out of the country depend upon the local radio stations for getting updates about the happening in their hometown. As a trusted app, Hamro Patro took this cause as a vision and introduced uncompromised service to the public. 

Issuing an official statement on Sunday, the founder of the application Shankar Uprety said,

“Audio is an important aspect of our lives and technology … the quality of audio matters and it matters significantly when you are listening to online streaming … Radios previously available at 32 kbps and 64 kbps will now be available in HD, or 128 kbps.”

Hamro Patro is currently featuring 500 radio channels in its online streaming facility. So far, five stations(Image FM, Ujyalo Radio Network, Vijaya FM, Nepali Radio Network, Classic FM) have been upgraded to 128 kbps. The team is preparing to upgrade more radio channels in the coming months. 

Every day, more than 4 lakh listeners use the Hamro Patro app to listen to their favorite radio stations. In order to serve a huge mass of listeners, the company has equipped its system with Southeast streaming technology.

Founder Uprety also said that the radio stations need not pay any charges for including their channels in the application. The channels must provide a streaming link to Hamro Patro so that the application can be connected to their streaming network.
