Afghan Security Forces repelling Talibans from Western Province

Kathmandu, July 8. Afghan Defense Ministry on Thursday confirmed that at least 69 Taliban terrorists were killed and 23 others were injured when Afghan security forces ejected insurgents from Qala-e-Naw city, the headquarters of western Badghis province.

The Official release issued by the Ministry reads, “The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), including national army commandos, supported by Afghan Air Force targeted militants’ aggregation in multiple locations in Qala-e-Naw on Wednesday.” 

ANDSF immediately launched a counter-offensive formation when a highly armed Taliban terrorist assaulted the city. Weapons and ammunition used by guerrillas were also seized.

The ministry also stated that the counter-offensive is in high gear and that the situation in the city is improving. More Security forces are being deployed to maintain peace. 

June – Talibani Divisional Commander Arrested

On June 14, a special team of the Afghan national intel agency tracked and captured a senior Talibani divisional commander Rohullah Rohani in Yangi Qala district of Takhar province, northern afghanistan.

Rohani was captured weeks after Taliban insurgents attacked security troops and gained control of numerous semi-urban regions around the nation.
