Twitter locks account of Indian Congress on grounds of violation of rules
Indian Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Twitter account was also locked on August 7
Kathmandu, Aug 12. Twitter has locked the official account of the Indian Congress, stating that they have violated the rules of the site.
While the account was locked on Thursday, they took on to Facebook to inform about the same. They wrote that while they weren’t afraid when the leaders were locked in jail, then why would they be afraid to lose an account.
The Social Media Head of All India Congress Committee said that nothing will stop them to raise their voice of the people. He further revealed that while acting under the government, Twitter has blocked over 5,000 accounts of Congress workers across the country.
Indian Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also has been blocked since August 7. Rahul Gandhi’s account was suspended after the government complained that he had posted a picture of a Dalit girl who was raped and killed.
A spokesperson has said that the responsibility of such action goes to PM Modi and his government along with Twitter.
