French Catholic Church identifies more than 3,000 pedophiles since 1950

Kathmandu, October 3. An independent commission investigating the French Catholic Church scandal case indicated that thousands of pedophiles have operated inside the church since 1950.
Chairman of the commission Jean-Marc Sauve told news agencies that the investigative research has “uncovered more than 3,000 pedophile members of the church, mostly priests.”
In response to the rising number of accusations of sex abuse, the French Catholic Church established an independent committee to investigate the issue in 2018.
After two and a half years of investigation of archives and interviews with witnesses, the commission is set to release a 2,500-page report this week.
