Nepal is launching “Vitamin A” campaign for 2.7 million children

Kathmandu, October 21. The Nepali Ministry of Health and Population has announced that it will be administering Vitamin ‘A’ capsules to all of its children aged between 6 to 59 months.

Under the National Vitamin A Programme, 2.7 million children all over the country will receive Vitamin capsules free of cost. The parents are requested to take their children to the administration booths on October 24 and 25.

According to the Ministry, 52 thousand health volunteers will distribute 1 lakh units of Vitamin A to children aged 6 to 11 months. While 2 lakh units will be given to children aged 12 to 59 months. 

The children will also receive a single dose of “Deworming albendazole tablets” on the booth. The nationwide campaign will be managed by 25 health workers.
