US Intel agencies submit new report on “Covid-19 Origin”
Kathmandu, October 30. On Friday, the intel agencies of the United States jointly released an updated assessment report on the origins of Covid-19.
The report issued under the Office of the Director of National Intelligence reveals the technical approaches of the intelligence community in conducting a 90-day study to trace the actual origin of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier in March, the agencies submitted a brief report to the White House, stating two possible theoretical explanations:
- The virus first emerged from human contact with an infected animal in Wuhan, China.
- The virus accidentally leaked from a highly secure research laboratory in Wuhan.

Friday’s 17-page detailed document still could not conclude whether Novel Coronavirus emerged from a laboratory breach or from natural sources.
The report reads, “We remain skeptical of allegations that SARS-CoV-2 was a biological weapon because they are supported by scientifically invalid claims… Similarly, we have not identified any existing coronavirus strains that could have plausibly served as a backbone if SARS-CoV-2 had been genetically engineered.”
The report continues, “The global scientific community does not know exactly where, when, or how the first human infection with SARS-CoV-2 occurred.”
