China willing to send “relief aid” to Tornado victims in USA
Kathmandu, December 13. China’s International Development Cooperation Agency on Monday announced that the communist government is willing to provide assistance to tornado hit victims in the USA.
Agency’s spokesperson Xu Wei told reporters that the agency on behalf of the Chinese government would like to provide aid based on the needs of the victims struck by more 30 tornadoes on Saturday.
The Foreign Ministry of China also issued a statement expressing condolences to people who lost their lives during the calamity. The ministry spokesperson said, “It is hoped that the injured could recover as soon as possible, and the affected people can rebuild their homes at an early date.”
Tornadoes rip through the USA killing at least 84 people
The government of the United States have announced that 84 people are likely to have died after a slew of tornadoes ripped through several states on Saturday.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear told local reporters that the state saw “the most severe tornado event in Kentucky’s history”. Houses and trees were uprooted, electric poles cut by half with wires lying on the ground. ‘A candle factory in Mayfield was severely hit with 110 workers inside,’ Beshear noted.
Governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker also announced that at least six people died at an Amazon warehouse building. Thousands of houses have been affected by a power outage.
Earlier on Friday, the National Weather Service had issued a warning claiming that massive thunderstorm systems tearing through states like Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee were threatening at least 25 million people.
