Health Officers in Mahottari arrested for collecting “bribe” on COVID vaccine

Kathmandu, December 14 Two health workers have been arrested for allegedly soliciting bribes in exchange for administering corona virus vaccines provided for free by the government.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority(CIAA) confirmed that Ajay Kumar Shah, a health assistant at Mahottari Health Post sent a volunteer Krishna Kumar Yadav to collect Rs 20,000 bribe from a local citizen.

CIAA Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Risal told reporters that the authority received a tip based on which the health officer and volunteer was arrested from new bus park area of Janakpur city.
