Palpa-Butwal highway closes for “15 nights” due to maintenance work

Kathmandu, December 14. The Road Division Office at Palpa announced on Tuesday that the Palpa-Butwal section of the Siddhartha highway will be closed for 15 nights due to maintenance works.
Division Chief Rameshwor Lamsal told reporters that the highway expansion project is currently begun and will end only after December 28. The construction project runs at night, therefore, between 9.30 pm through 4 am the road will be closed for the public.
“The highway on this section is being widened and the hillside along it has to be cut for this purpose. The soil and stone dugout in the process has to be kept on the road” Lamsal noted.
