CIAA raids Changunarayan municipal office over account irregularities

Kathmandu, December 15. The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on Tuesday stormed into Changunarayan Municipality’s office and took the office’s documents.
CIAA Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Risal told reporters that the raid was prompted by allegations about irregularities in the purchase and payment of office goods and equipment.
Tuesday’s raid was led by Authority’s senior official Rishiram Bhattarai
Risal also informed that the team led by Bhattarai confiscated documents related to road development, other large projects in which the municipal office had involvement in payments.
Further investigation is underway.
