Upper Syange Hydropower passes 2.4 Megawatt production test

Kathmandu, December 19. The Upper Syange Hydropower Project in Lamjung’s Marsyangdi Village has successfully tested 2.4 megawatts of power generation.
After 10 days of the first operation on Monday, the management committee announced that the project has successfully passed its hydromechanical, electromechanical and infrastructure tests.
Technical representative Som Tamang told reporters, “We have communicated to the Nepal Electricity Authority to connect the generated power to the national grid.”
The 500 million rupees project will supply 14.6-gigawatt hours of electricity to National Grid every year.
