Massive fire breaks out at “Tea Factory” in Shri Antu of Illam
The fire might have destroyed at least 70,000 kilograms of processed tea.

Kathmandu, January 16. A massive fire broke out at Ilam Tea Producers’ Antu Valley Tea Estate in Shriantu, Suryodaya Municipality-4, in the district. The fire, which started at 3:00 p.m., has yet to be put out.
Ganga Bahadur Thapa, Information Officer at the District Police Office in Ilam, said that no complete information on the loss had been obtained because the fire had not been put out.
Police officers from Pashupatinagar’s Area Police Office and a team of armed police officers from BoP26 have been dispatched. They are working tirelessly with the locals to extinguish the flames that ignited nearly 6 hours ago.
Rudra Ghimire, a local resident and witness told the RSS reporter that the fire may have started as a result of a short circuit. He also indicated that the fire might have destroyed at least 70,000 kilograms of processed tea.
