Kathmandu Valley decides to close all of its museums from Saturday

Kathmandu, January 21. On Thursday, the District Administration Offices in the three districts of Kathmandu valley decided to close all museums in the valley from Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the Kathmandu District Administration Office, the museums would be closed till further notice.

Hanumandhoka Durbar Museum Chief, Sandeep Khanal told reporters that the museum was operating in line with the health and safety regulations. But now, since the government decided to temporarily close the museum, the museum will be locked on Friday at midnight.

Earlier last week, the COVID-19 Crisis Management Centre (CCMC) advised various ministries to join hands to effectively reduce the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19. The centre urged Home Ministry to work on “smart lockdown” and restrict mass gatherings in public locations.

At least 37 thousand people in the Kathmandu valley were infected with the COVID-19 virus on Thursday.
