Madhes Institute relaunches “Special COVID Hospital” in Janakpur

Kathmandu, January 21. Due to an increase in coronavirus infections, the Madhes Institute of Health Sciences has reopened its Corona Special Hospital.

According to Prof Dr Ram Kewal Sah, Vice-Chancellor of the Institute, the hospital staff has been managing 100 normal beds, 20 ventilators and 20 ICU beds.

Sah also informed that the hospital is equipped with an oxygen manufacturing unit that can fill up to 50 cylinders in 24 hours.

On Wednesday, Minister for Health and Population Birodh Khatiwada, Madhes Province Social Development Minister Nawal Kishor Sah, and others inspected the facility.

The inspection committee announced that two patients were receiving treatment and their health condition is normal.

The Institute had operated the hospital in the first and second waves of the pandemic.
