Kenyan Elephant gives birth to “rare twins”

Kathmandu, January 22. Conservationist group Save the Elephants have announced that an elephant in Kenya’s Northern grasslands has given birth to twin calves.
This is a memorable moment among the endangered species, as twins account for only 1% of all births.
A few days old calves were discovered by Safari tourists in Samburu reserve, who indicated that the twin infants require external care.
Founder of Save the Elephants, Iain Douglas-Hamilton told reporters that in such circumstances, the mothers of twins usually don’t have enough milk to keep the calves alive.
Kenya has an estimated 36,280 elephants, according to a recent wildlife census.
