Free masks for people entering Kathmandu valley

Kathmandu, January 23. On Sunday, the Thankot based Metropolitan Police Circle announced the launch of a “free mask distribution and public awareness program”.

According to the official release, the one week campaign was launched in partnership with the Thankot Jaycees (JCI Thankot). “The distribution will be conducted in Thankot, Nagdhunga, Gurjudhara, Naikap, Dahchok, Tinthan and other areas,” the statement noted.

During the opening hours of the campaign, the team distributed over a thousand masks to drivers, co-drivers, passengers, and pedestrians entering Kathmandu Valley via road.

Manoj Kumar Shrestha, Inspector of Police, Metropolitan Police Circle told reporters that the campaign was undertaken to protect civilians from the spread of Omicron.
