Birgunj: Police nab a truck driver with illegal goods worth 1.6 crore

Kathmandu, January 27. A team of Nepal Police on Wednesday, arrested a truck driver with a truck fully loaded with illegally imported items worth NPR 16.3 million.
Parsa District Police told reporters that the truck with the license plate “Na 4 Kha 8334” evaded import taxes at the birgunj border. The truck was detained on its route to Butwal a few hours later.
The police confirmed that both the vehicle and the driver were turned over to the Revenue Investigation Office in Pathalaiya for further investigation.
