Chitwan National Park installs new cameras at spots sensitive to poaching

Kathmandu, January 31. The Chitwan National Park has installed surveillance cameras in selected locations where poaching is a threat.

Park’s official spokesperson Ganesh Prasad Tiwari told reporters that 11 new cameras were installed at selected areas between Kasara and Dhurba. He also confirmed that the technical team is repairing 10 cameras in areas of Kasara and Sauraha.

The installation work was initiated through economic support by World Wildlife Fund(WWF). “The project was coordinated by officials at the Department of National Parks and Wildlife Conservation,” Tiwari noted.

Tiwari also said that an additional seven cameras in Dhurba and Bhimle require repairing works.
