Historic statue missing from Balkumari Temple has been found

Kathmandu, February 11. An idol of the deity Balkumari, which had been missing for three weeks from Sunakothi, Lalitpur district, has been found. The return of the historic relic has been greeted with joy by the community.

The statue was retrieved at 6:00 a.m. from a location near Karuna Temple in Lalitpur Metropilis-15. The idol was allegedly taken from the temple on January 22. The authorities believe the suspects may have left it there in fear of being apprehended.

A woman who visited the temple this morning ,noticed the idol and reported it to the police. The police handed over the idol at 10:00 am in the presence of the Guthi’s representatives.The bronze statue, which stands two feet tall, dates back to the Lichchhavi era.
