Popular singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri no more
Kathmandu, February 16. Popular Bollywood singer and music composer Bappi Lahiri passed away at Mumbai, India. He was 69 years old.
He was suffering from Obstructive Sleep Apnea. While many celebrities paid condolences to the singer, his family has announced that the cremation will take place on Thursday.
He enjoyed his success as a music professional in the 1980 and 90s and earned the title of ‘disco king’. His work in films such as Disco Dancer, Namak Halaal, Dance Dance, Commando was widely appreciated.
Indian PM Modi also tweeted regarding the death of the singer. He tweeted, “Shri Bappi Lahiri Ji’s music was all encompassing, beautifully expressing diverse emotions. People across generations could relate to his works. His lively nature will be missed by everyone. Saddened by his demise. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti”.
He had completed 50 years in Bollywood music industry in 2019.
