Afghan industrialists demand for withdrawal of decision from US
Kathmandu, February 18. After withdrawing forces from Afghanistan, United States (US) has frozen more than 9 billion US dollars assets of Afghanistan’s central bank. This has led to economic problems and crises in the country.
The Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines has revolted the decision from US President Biden. Acting chairman of the association Al-Hajj Sakhi Ahmad Paiman said that the decision is unjust and that they denounce the ‘stealing’ of their national assets.
He further revealed that 400,000 people directly and around 1.5 million others indirectly have been working in different industries under the association.
Paiman has said that as US is defender of rights and freedom, their claim would be not valid if they continued towards such an unfair decision.
A protest took place on Tuesday in Afghanistan demanding for the frozen assets to be returned.
