Ukrainian Ambassador to India Dr. Polikha asks for India’s help in ongoing crisis
Kathmandu, February 24. Ukrainian Ambassador to India Dr Igor Polikha has requested India to help Ukraine in the current crisis.
He has sought for support from India as Ukraine was invaded by Russia earlier in the day. In a video message, he said, “At the present moment, we’re asking and pleading for support of India. In this case of an aggression by a totalitarian regime against democratic state, India should fully assume its global role. Modi ji is one of the most powerful and respected leaders in the world.”
He said that Putin might think about his move if Modi talks to him.
As India has been a member of UN Security Council twice, Russia has applauded India’s independent stance.
While Australia, US and Japan have announced sanctions against Russia, India is the only member of Quad that has not announced any sanctions yet. However, New Delhi has been calling for de-escalation of the tension.
