India to send humanitarian assistance to Ukraine
Kathmandu, March 1. The official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs on Monday has said that India will be sending humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
Arindam Bagchi, official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs has revealed that India will be sending humanitarian assistance including medicines upon the request of Ukraine.
Ukrainian ambassador Polikha had earlier asked for help from India on the ongoing crisis. He also talked with Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla on Sunday.
Ambassador Polikha revealed that there are long queues at the borders of people trying to leave Ukraine, which included pregnant women, students and diplomats as well. He also requested not to listen to fake news regarding the tragedy, adding the situation is sensitive on ground.
India has flown six flights so far to evacuate Indian students from Ukraine.
