US President Biden: Putin was wrong, we are ready
Kathmandu, March 2. US President Joe Biden has said that he is ready for the challenge that his opponent, Russian President Putin has put forward for him. He said so at his maiden address at the State of Union.
He said that NATO was created for peace and stability in Europe after World War II. US along with 29 states are members and he reiterated upon the fact that American diplomacy matters.
He said, “Putin’s war was premeditated and unprovoked. He rejected efforts at diplomacy. He thought the West and NATO wouldn’t respond. And, he thought he could divide us here at home. Putin was wrong. We were ready.”
Biden added that they have countered Russia’s lies with truth. US and their allies are enforcing powerful economic sanctions that restrict Russia from becoming a part of the global financial system.
US is further closing down its airspace for Russia. Biden has announced to include their allies in the process.
The Russian stock market has stopped trading and lost 40% of its value.
Biden addressed upon the successes of his year long administration along with the challenges faced in the domestic and international front during the session.
